A French-inspired starter that makes a good pairing with most main dishes – very versatile! Good but easy to make.

Ingredients
1 slice of bread
1 orange wedge
Butter
A little goat cheese, e.g. chèvre
Pine nuts
Honey
Balsamic
Pomegranate seeds (optional)
Description:
- Punch out the bread in a circle.
- Mix the pine nuts with oil and salt.
- Roast the nuts, for example in a frying pan.
- Slice some cheese, so much that it covers the bread.
- Grate butter with a cheese grater and place a slice of butter on either side of the bread, on a tin. Add the cheese. Drizzle over honey.
- Oven gratin at 200 degrees for 5-10 minutes; The cheese should be suitably au gratin and the bread should be toasted.
- Take out and drizzle over balsamic and sprinkle with nuts (and possibly pomegranate). Place the peeled orange wedge next to it and drizzle over the balsamic.
Pairs with:
Champagne or pinot noir.
