Christmas meatballs

This is a variation on The standard recipe With a small adjustment in the seasoning that makes a big difference. The meatballs can be prepared in advance and frozen, which fits very well considering all the other dishes on the Christmas table. Bake them and brown for a slightly shorter time, and then freeze. When they are thawed, they are browned again in butter.

Christmas meatballs, meatballs with allspice and mustard

Ingredients

500 g mixed mince
1 cup roasted onions
1 egg
0.5 tbsp dijon mustard
0.5 tablespoons coarse-grained Scanian mustard
1.5 teaspoons salt
0.25 teaspoons black pepper
0.25 tsp allspice

Description:

  1. Mix all ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Sprinkle or roll about 35 meatballs.
  3. Roast on a baking sheet at 225 degrees for 5 minutes.
  4. Brown in butter before eating.
