Allspice Dram liqueur

A spicy liqueur that is difficult to get hold of in Sweden and can be used in several different cocktails, including rooms old fashioned.

1 bottle

Ingredients:

2.5 dl light rum
3.5 dl of water
1.5 dl cane sugar
0.5 dl whole allspice
1 cinnamon stick

Description:

  1. Grind the allspice into coarse pieces.
  2. Pour the pepper into a glass jar and pour over the rum. Seal and shake.
  3. Leave on for 5 days with daily shakes.
  4. Coarsely mortar the cinnamon stick and add the mixture.
  5. After 12 days, strain out all the solid pieces. Coffee filters may be needed.
  6. Make a layer of the sugar and water. Allow to cool, and then add to the mixture.
  7. Shake and leave for 2 days.
  8. Pour into a bottle.
